What if we made the long, cold corridors of a data centre sexier?
This is the challenge our client, an interior designer and creator of bespoke graphic works, has set for themselves. Paregrin. To dress these 75m of corridors, with a height of 7.50m, Parégrine called on our expertise in very large format printing and installation.
We printed 2,000 m2 of adhesive and placed the whole thing in the Data Centre corridors Equinix !
Expectations
Parégrine has tasked us with printing and installing 2,000 square metres.2 adhesive on the walls of 4 corridors. The challenge was significant, with over 35 m of corridors to dress over a height of 7.5 m!
Following receipt of the plans, we studied the project to recommend the most resistant and suitable material for the requirement (a high-tack adhesive), and proposed concrete solutions for covering 35 x 7.5 m of walls. Once this preparatory work was completed, production began.
We printed 2,000 m2 UV adhesive. This ultraviolet light-based technology allows for vibrant colour rendering, ideal for wall decoration.
The installation was by far the most complex part. The size of the visuals (some drops measured 1.30 x 7.5 m!) required many precise joins, which demanded very technical and meticulous work. Installation using a cherry picker was made difficult by the presence of numerous electrical conduits and ventilation shafts crossing the corridors.
Knowing that a wall is never perfectly straight or clean, our fitters would heat the adhesive in places to ensure it adhered perfectly to uneven surfaces.
This project lasted 4 weeks, we are proud of the result!
